Visva-Bharati is a university has been built on the vision of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore in Santiniketan - an abode of peace. This institution primarily focuses on the holistic educational paradigm and continues the legacy of Tagore’s unique model of education, aesthetic culture and internationalism. I have been working here as a faculty for 28 years. I am a professor, former Dean of Sangit Bhavana and former Head of the Department of Hindusthani Classical Music, Sangit Bhavana of this university.

I have explored different spheres of studies in my musical journey. I am serving here as a teacher, trainer as well as a researcher for almost three decades. I have written books and numerous research articles. I am presently associated with several activities of UGC, NAAC and many universities and educational platforms of music in India and abroad.
A follower of Imdadkhani gharana of sitar
I am a follower of Imdadkhani Gharana of sitar and blessed to have Pandit Dhruva Tara Joshi and Pandit Suresh Mishra as my gurus in my musical voyage. Both the stalwarts have vouchsafed me the legacy of Imdadkhani style . I have tried to preserve this traditional and authentic patrimony.
